MORTEM POST

Mortem Post was a printing, typography, and magazine project done by myself along with four additional peers from Northern Illinois University at the time: Harrison Linden, Giselle Martinez, Devin Belden, and Renjamin. The objective was to create one deliverable: a single issue of a magazine series containing several real life articles formatted into organized spreads along with an outstanding visual design that stays consistent with its themes.

For Mortem Post, the main idea of the magazine serves to highlight aspects of horror tropes, interpretations, and stories and its influence on modern media of the present day. I was tasked as the group’s Illustrator and have drawn several raster and vector illustrations and backgrounds that match the grunge aesthetic it wished to deliver, though my role in this project did extend to page formatting, photography, editing, and modeling for some advertisement deliverables.
